Stephanie Halpern - Graphic Design

These are two conceptual posters I created for Fanatics Fest in New York City. The goal in mind was to blend iconic sports imagery with eye-catching visuals to promote the event. The project was purely for personal enjoyment and is unaffiliated with Fanatics or Fanatics Events.

This is a book cover I created as a personal project to redesign the original cover of the science-fantasy novel Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir. I wanted to experiment with a more eye-catching and simplistic cover that might grab readers' attention in the bookstore that might not normally pick up a fantasy novel, rather than the traditional cover typical of books in the genre.

I worked to preserve the horror-mystery element of the novel as well using simple but detailed shapes and silhouettes and hints that reward observant readers. With a bold but limited color theme and a simpler design that deviates from the stereotypical motifs of a science-fantasy book, my alternative cover breaks the mold while preserving the important elements of the book.

These are some pieces I created while working for SuperYou The Musical . I was a graphic design intern on their team helping to promote their London premiere by making flyers, social media posts, and more. The elements for the show were all designed with striking visuals that evoked a modern comic book, burst-of-action feeling.

This is a shirt I designed inspired by DC Comics character Damian Wayne and his superhero persona, Robin. i integrated the colors of his costume and the DC universe in a fashionable way that is still recognizable to fans. I drew him wearing the shirt and turned it into a poster to feature the design.

In 2019, I was the visual director of digital hybrid print and digital art and writing magazine Scroll + Scrolling. I won third place in the Columbia Scholastic Press Association Gold Circle Award for my spread: PUNCH!

The CSPA Judge wrote, "The conceptual development in both Scroll and Scrolling creates a visual and verbal 'whole book look.' The writing and visuals are outstanding. Both the print and digital platforms are exemplary. Together they form an outstanding, cohesive, enriching experience for the reader... Judging your magazine was a joy."

I was tasked with designing a logo for a public relations firm specializing in attorney marketing. They had requested a simple, clean and professional design with a two-color theme that translates to their physical assets as well as their website, https://www.l2bcontent.com/

I truly adore zines as a medium, and I deeply enjoy creating and supporting them. This is the cover of a free zine I organized in 2019 by and for the Linked Universe discord server. We had over 100 contributors, and featured paintings, animations, poems, stories, and more.
